RoAnne Duncan was born in Washington, DC, United States in 1963 and started professional Ballet Training at The Maryland Youth Ballet where her principal teachers were Tensia Fonseca and Michelle Lees. In her early career she has danced with several Ballet Companies in the United States such as Colorado Ballet, Nevada Dance Theatre and Arizona Dance Theatre where performed many roles in both Classical and Contemporary repertoire. After several years of performing with mentioned Ballet Companies she joined The Joffrey Ballet and danced in all repertoire of the company as Soloist. During her dancing career with The Joffrey Ballet, Gerald Arpino has Choreographed special solo for Miss.Duncan in his ballet Birthday Variations. In 1988 she moved to Europe and joined  Maurice Béjart’s Ballet of the XX Century in Brussels, Belgium and Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Switzerland, where has danced for twelve years as Soloist. With Bejart Ballet Company she has toured and danced all over the World and invited to participate in a combined Kirov Ballet and Béjart Ballet Festival in Russia. After her dancing career she has started teaching and most recently in Orlando Ballet School where served as Assistant to the School Director Mr.Peter Stark. While teaching she has appeared on stage with Orlando Ballet Company and portrayed the mother in Giselle and Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty Directed and Choreographed by Fernando Bujones. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate from American University, RoAnne completed a Master of Fine Arts Degree at Florida State University and has been honored to be a Suzanne Farrell Fellow. Miss.Duncan is currently pursuing a doctorate in the Department of Interdisciplinary Humanities at Florida State University where she received her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance in 2005.  RoAnne choreographed Maryland Youth Ballet’s Concert Group Spring 2012 Gala and taught company classes during the recent Kennedy Center engagement of Bowen McCauley Dance.  RoAnne has been in great demand as Guest Master Teacher at many Ballet Schools and Companies throughout United States.​
